Tirra Lirra

Tirra Lirra pays homage to the new wave genre while providing rich character and a unique feel that is innovative in sound. With careful deliberation, these compositions from songwriter Lena Holtzen are similar in fashion to those of her full band project, Mid Evil Times, a rock and roll outfit with a loosely tied renaissance ribbon around its distinctive harmonic universe.

Tirra Lirra; however, ventures further into Holtzen's solo storytelling as opposed to the collaborative approach of Mid Evil Times, searching for themes both touching and whimsical, whether they decorate the story of a Russian Tsar's daughter, or that of a skeletal biker played by the one and only Nicolas Cage.
